Interview with Deccan Cronicle 

1. Tell us about ur journey from Karimnagar to Wisconsin. How did u get
this break? 
 
It was all quite sudden really. I got a call from my Dad who lives in the states
 and he wanted me to come right away. It was perfect timing because It was just
 before my 18th birthday. While I was still at Chicago’s O’Hare International 
Airport, I got a call from John Casablanca’s modeling and acting school. 
They accepted my application so I took a few classes to brush up on my skills. 
Milwaukee is a beautiful place and “run Up for the runway” is huge yearly even
t I thought 2007 will be a lucky one for me if I made it to the auditions, 
I was one of the few selected for the runway after lots of appreciations from 
many designers during practice sections .
 
2. What do you have to say that so many Indians are making it big in
 the international arena coming from small places like our cricket captain 
Dhoni?
 
 I think the world is finally starting to see what beautiful and unique people
 we have in India. I am a huge fan of Dhoni and I’m sure even he would agree. 
Karimnagar has produced a lot of freedom fighters, national leaders and our 
contribution in the field of academics is great. I want to put Karimnagar on 
the international map. I am very proud to be an Indian and from my ancestral
 place of Karimnagar.
 
3. Who all helped you in ur endeavor? How did you feel today?
 
 This was the collective effort of my family and eternal support of my friends.
 Without them, none of this would be possible. Thanks to all of them especially 
my Grandmother who always gave me encouragement and praise for being focused 
on any task I take.
 
4. What inspired you to walk the international ramp and make this stunt
with the fashion world?
 
 I am inspired by Sania Mirza who is breaking barriers every day. Kalpana 
Chawala was one who inspired me to do things in the west while at the same 
time keeping my ethics intact.
 
5. What are you studying/doing now? 
 
Right now I am studying CNC Mhining at Milwaukee Area Technical College in
 Wisconsin. This is my first semester and I enjoy it very much.
 
6. What's the reaction of your friends and family/parents at your
achievement? 
 
They are extremely proud of me. I get calls all the time from them.
 This is what truly inspires me to do my best.
 
7. With who all do you stay in USA? 
 
I stay with my Dad, My Granpa’s youngest brother 
 
8. When are you planning to visit Andhra Pradesh? How often do u come
 to India? 
 
Winters are very harsh here in Wisconsin. Sometimes it gets to be so cold you 
hair can freeze. I think I will come in winter and escape the cold.
 
9. What's the next venture u r planning? 
 
I plan to study hard and graduate college. As for modeling, I have 
offers to consider. School comes first.
 
10. Do you harbour any dream of getting into Bollywood/Tollywood/Hollywood?
 
 That is a dream I have always had. If I was made an offer, it would be 
difficult to refuse.
 
11. Any model you look up to for inspiration?
 
 John Abraham is the one model that I want to mold my career around. Tyson
 Beckford is also in the same class and last but not least, Channing Tatum.
 
12. Any fashion designer you have struck a rapport with? 
 
Yes. Bjorn Nasett has given me my first chance and for that I will be 
eternally grateful to him. His knowledge is invaluable and one can certainly 
learn a thing or two from him. I would also like to work with Calvin Klein,
 Emporio Armani, Georgio Armani, Nautica and Tommy Hilfiger
 
13. What about you love life? Is their some one special? 
 
No not yet. I have many accomplishments to complete before I can think about 
that. “Miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep”
 
14 What are ur other interests besides modeling?
I have a very tight schedule. My day starts at 5:30am after prayers and workout.
 I don’t usually return home until Midnight. It is very difficult for me to fit 
anything in. I do however love all kinds of sports and am learning about 
American football. On the weekends are photo shoots and family time.
